Request account or data deletion

Surroget LLC operates SurroGet. Our own team handles account deletion and privacy requests.

You can request deletion through the SurroGet app, our website, email, or postal mail. You do not need to reinstall the app, sign in, or have an active account to send an email request. You can also request deletion of particular information without asking to close your account, although removing information needed for a service may prevent us from continuing that service.

In the app

  1. Open Home, then Settings.
  2. Select Delete account and read the explanation.
  3. Confirm your identity and acknowledge that deletion cannot be undone, then submit.

On the website

Sign in to SurroGet, open your account Settings, and select Delete account. Follow the identity confirmation and acknowledgment steps. If you cannot sign in or complete those steps, use the email option below.

By email, including without account access

Email support@surroget.com with the subject “SurroGet account and data deletion.” Please include:

  • The email address associated with your account or earlier interaction with SurroGet.
  • Whether you are a surrogate, an intended parent, or someone who has not created an account.
  • Whether you want to close your account, delete specific information, or both.

Do not send your password, Social Security number, identity documents, medical records, or other sensitive documents with this request. If more information is necessary to verify the request, our team will explain what is needed and how to provide it securely.

By postal mail

Send a written account or data deletion request with the same identifying details listed above to the address below. Please do not include original documents or medical records.

Send a privacy request

You can use this form without an account to request deletion, access, correction, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal. Email and postal requests remain available above.

No sign-in is required. Give only the details below; our team will follow up if verification or more context is needed. Do not send passwords, identity documents, or health records.

Use your account email if you can access it. If you cannot, use an address where our team can reach you.

Information covered by your request

We will review and verify your request before changing or disclosing information. We respond within applicable legal deadlines.

What account deletion does

Successful account deletion closes access to your account and removes your profile from matching. Interests and proposed matches are withdrawn or closed, saved and hidden profile entries involving your account are removed, and push notifications are disabled. Your profile photos are marked removed, and we attempt to delete the associated photo files from our storage.

We remove the email address and phone number from your active account record, delete address and emergency contact records and profile prompt answers, and clear free-text profile content such as your biography and family description. Some of that information, including prior contact details, may remain in audit history or other records described below.

Account deletion does not automatically erase every record associated with you. It also does not delete accounts you hold with independent clinics, attorneys, screening providers, or payment providers. When you delete your SurroGet account, we also create a request for our team to review deletion of the retained information. You do not need to send another request to start that review. You can follow up using the form above, email, or postal mail.

If you have a match in progress

If a match is accepted or active, self-service account deletion is unavailable until our team has coordinated ending the match. The app or website explains this and directs you to your match or an end-match request. This allows our team to address outstanding coordination, agreements, and payment questions with the people involved.

You can still send an account-closure or data-deletion request to support@surroget.com while a match is in progress. We accept and review privacy requests regardless of match status. Our team will explain the next steps and any specific reason that particular information needs to be retained.

Information that may remain

Our standard retention period is up to two years after account closure. For applications or questionnaires without an account, it is up to two years after your last interaction with us. You can request earlier deletion; the two-year period does not delay a valid privacy request or override a shorter legal deadline. Our team reviews and deletes retained records. A specific legal obligation or documented legal hold may require keeping particular records longer, with review for deletion when that reason ends.

Closing an account leaves some records in our systems. Depending on your use of SurroGet, these can include:

  • Structured application and administrative records, your name and date of birth, and health, pregnancy, fertility, eligibility, and screening information you or an authorized person provided.
  • Uploaded documents, including identification, insurance information, and records from independent clinics or other providers, where you supplied them.
  • Messages and attachments, including conversation history that remains available to the other participant, and records of reports, blocks, or safety concerns.
  • Consents, signatures, agreements, match history, invoices, subscription and payment records, and records of refunds or disputes.
  • Account history, audit and security records, communications with our team, and copies in backups or systems operated by our service providers.

These categories describe records that account closure does not automatically erase. They do not mean every record must be kept. When you request deletion of retained information, we assess the request and any applicable exceptions record by record. Where we retain information, we explain the relevant reason, such as a legal requirement, an unresolved transaction or dispute, security, or another exception permitted by applicable law.

Read our retention explanation and the rights described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for more information. SurroGet does not provide medical advice or medical analysis; health information in these records is used for the application and coordination services described in our privacy policies.

Membership and payments

If you have a paid membership, account deletion attempts to cancel the associated Stripe subscription. A payment-provider error can prevent cancellation from completing. Ask our team to verify cancellation if you do not receive confirmation or if another charge appears; do not assume a subscription has been canceled solely because you can no longer sign in.

Deleting your account does not automatically refund completed payments, cancel agreements with other parties, or resolve outstanding invoices or disputes. Contact support@surroget.com to discuss those items.

Verification and our response

We verify requests before disclosing, changing, or deleting personal information to help protect it from unauthorized access. Where possible, we use information we already hold and communication through the email address associated with your account. If you no longer control that address, tell us so we can discuss another verification method.

We respond within applicable legal deadlines. We will explain any necessary verification steps, an extension permitted by law, and whether the request was completed in full or in part. If we cannot fulfill a request, we explain the reason and any available way to appeal or challenge the decision. An authorized representative can contact us using the same email address; we may need evidence of their authority and verification of your identity as permitted by law.

Questions or follow-up requests can be sent to support@surroget.com. Our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explain our broader information practices and the rights that may apply to you.
